Executive Vice President, President of Industrial Motion
Christopher A. Coughlin serves as executive vice president and president of industrial motion and is an officer of The Timken Company.
Named to his current position in 2022, Coughlin is responsible for building on Timken’s engineered bearing leadership by continuing to diversify and grow adjacent industrial motion offerings to serve customers’ future needs. An experienced Timken executive, Coughlin has diversified the company’s business through organic growth initiatives, product innovation and strategic M&A.
Previously, Coughlin served as executive vice president, group president, leading Timken’s global engineered bearings business and the company’s expansive growth in renewable energy. He is credited with developing Timken’s global manufacturing footprint and extensive distribution network, delivering industry-leading quality and customer service levels, and running Timken operations with greater efficiency to drive performance.
Throughout his Timken career, Coughlin has held business leadership roles that have included president of the Process Industries segment, vice president of industrial equipment, vice president of process industries and vice president of primary metals. Coughlin joined the company in 1984.
Coughlin earned a bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering from the University of Cincinnati and a master’s degree in business administration from Case Western Reserve University. He serves on the board of directors of the American Bearing Manufacturers Association.
