Tapered Roller Thrust Bearings

Timken's tapered roller thrust bearings are engineered for true rolling motion, increased bearing life and additional load bearing capacity in a variety of industrial applications. Tapered thrust bearings are available in heavy duty, v-flat, screw down, oscillating and crossed roller designs.

Heavy duty, or standard, thrust bearings (type TTHD) are ideally suited for demanding applications such as oil well swivels, pulp refiners, extruders and piercing mills. This is a general heavy duty bearing that can operate at relatively high speeds.

V-flat tapered roller thrust bearings are available in two types – TTVF (standard) and TTVS (self-aligning) – and combine the outstanding features of tapered thrust and cylindrical roller bearings, offering the highest possible capacity of any thrust bearing of its size.

A screw down bearing is a v-flat design with a full complement of controlled contour rollers but without a conventional bore. Compared with other v-flat types, screw down bearings offer the highest capacity, but at a reduced speed capability.

Engineered specifically for oscillating applications, types TTC and TTCS are cageless bearings with an outside retainer that holds the assembly together for shipping and installation.

Crossed roller bearings are designed to offer the highest levels of rotation accuracy and rigidity while conserving space and saving material costs. Type TXR bearings are ideal for machine tool applications such as vertical boring mills, vertical grinding machines and other similar applications.
