Timken has developed superior, ISO series-10 machine tool spindle bearings to promote increased metalworking throughput. Our HX bearing design delivers higher spindle speeds and increased dynamic radial stiffness. This allows spindle heads to remove more material in less time while maintaining superior finished product tolerances. These machining efficiencies are provided through a combination of unique ball complements and precision engineered raceway geometries.
The HX series enhances spindle bearing investments by increasing machine center productivity and extending bearing servicing intervals for maximum machine uptime. The design geometry minimizes lubricant shear effects at these higher speeds, resulting in lower operating temperatures compared with other “small ball” sealed bearings.
The HX series delivers excellent running accuracy and are manufactured to precise ABEC9 (ISO P2) levels for runout tolerances. Bearing bore and outside diameter is micron-coded for more predictable spindle performance by optimizing shaft and housing fits.
